The NEREUS RING is made from natural multi-colored mother of pearl, engraved with an intaglio depiction of the mythological god Nereus. Nereus, known as the old man of the sea, was not only the god of the sea’s abundant fish, but also a master shapeshifter and a bearer of prophetic voice. He resided with his wife Doris and their fifty Nereid daughters in the depths of the Aegean.
