Materials: 24k gold plated Silver, Labrodorite Cameo.
The CROSEUS necklace features a hand-carved Labradorite cameo depicting King Croesus. King Croesus was the wealthy ruler of the Lydian Kingdom in ancient Turkey during the sixth century B.C. His immense riches made him famous, and the expression "as rich as Croesus" originated from his wealth.
It is worth noting that King Croesus is often mistaken for King Midas, with many references in pop culture, but the accurate fact is that it is King Croesus who is depicted in the necklace. He was known for his extravagant wealth and was the first monarch to mint gold and silver coins. The Lydians, under his rule, produced exquisite gold coins like the renowned Croesus Stater.
The necklace is a reminder of the importance of not letting power or wealth consume us. While it is enjoyable to indulge in luxurious objects and enjoy the finer things in life, it is crucial to remain humble and balanced. The craftsmanship of the necklace is truly unique, as each piece is hand-sculpted by Rafael Indiana from wax, giving it an authentic ancient beauty.
Every Rafael Indiana product is handcrafted by artisans in Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar, from wax making each piece unique. We believe it gives the product its authentic ancient beauty. Every design comes with a unique story.
