This fabled island is often depicted as a series of concentric circles of land and water, with a grand palace and a temple dedicated to Poseidon at its center.
The inhabitants of Atlantis were described as a formidable and warlike civilization, ultimately facing defeat in a monumental conflict with the ancient Athenians. Legend has it that the sea engulfed Atlantis, rendering it lost to the ages, while the earth claimed ancient Athens.
The name “aquamarine” derives from the Latin word for seawater, and ancient mariners believed this gem possessed the power to calm turbulent waves and safeguard sailors at sea. It is said to empower the wearer by purifying the spirit, much like the clarity of pristine blue waters.
