The HESTIA necklace is named after the Greek goddess of the hearth. Hestia was one of the 12 Olympian deities, the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She played a significant role in ancient Greek religion due to the importance of fire. Hestia was responsible for maintaining the hearth fire on Mount Olympus as well as in the homes of the Greeks. When the gods Apollo and Poseidon became suitors for her hand in marriage, she made a vow to remain a maiden forever. In recognition of her commitment, Zeus, the king of the gods, honored her by granting her the role of presiding over all sacrifices.
The HESTIA necklace is hand engraved onto blue glass and depicts the goddess with wings, holding a sacred vase. Each necklace is meticulously hand sculpted by Rafael Indiana, who carves them from wax, resulting in each piece being unique. This attention to detail is what gives the necklace its authentic ancient beauty.Every Rafael Indiana product is handcrafted by artisans in Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar, from wax making each piece unique. We believe it gives the product its authentic ancient beauty. Every design comes with a unique story.
