Materials: 24k gold plated Silver, Mother of pearl.
The MYCENAEAN necklace showcases the art and culture of ancient Greece. Hand engraved onto a silver/grey mother of pearl, the intaglio carving depicts the Mycenean culture, which was prevalent from around 1600 to 1100 B.C. The name “Mycenaean” comes from the site of Mycenae, a fortified palace in the Peloponnesos region.
Mycenaean Greece marked the final phase of the Bronze Age in Ancient Greece, lasting from approximately 1750 to 1050 BC. It was a period characterized by the emergence of advanced and distinctly Greek civilization, featuring palatial states, urban organization, works of art, and a writing system.
The figure depicted on the stone of the necklace is a woman holding a staff, accompanied by a bird and olive branches. On the left side, there is a moon crescent, and on the right side, a marble statue. These symbols hold mythological significance and are representative of the Mycenean heritage.
