The Corinthian Column Necklace is an allegoric piece of jewelry. This necklace features an intaglio of a hero on a column, surrounded by laurels. The intaglio is set into red glass embellished with a knotted vermeil gold frame. This necklace is the symbolization of ancient heroic tales. The figure standing on the column is a figuration of the word hero, shaped in a god-like appearance. Worn by ancient Greeks and Romans, intaglios were believed to hold the power of the gods. The scarlet red of the glass adds courage, passion and bravery to this tale of jewelry.
