The Roman Knot Chain takes its inspiration from ancient techniques of gold manufacturing. Roman jewelry most constituted of gold pieces that were worked by highly crafted artisans. Techniques were a result of innovation and inspiration from Etruscan and Greek techniques. The knotting and twisted wire seen in this chain were techniques used for jewelry for ancient public figures and royal personalities in the Roman Empire.
